All FC&MCC Members,
What a great Show! It was a great success thanks to everyone’s hard work. I have only heard good things from all that came out. The weather was great and the food was good. Smoothies BBQ and Pizza Hut. We had over 100 cars and there were so many nice ones that the judges had a hard time selecting the Top 50. I wish everyone could go home with one of our trophies they were the best that I have seen this year. Crown did one wonderful job. We made over $2,000 so we can help several families this year. Thanks to all that bought the 50/50 tickets and brought their cars. Thanks to our sponsors. We had most of the trophies paid for so we will have a better count of what we really made.
Gary has ordered us some new wiring to help with our speakers - we have trouble with people not hearing all the announcements at our show and cruise. Kim received the “Member of the Year” award; she has been one to always count on making everything run smooth. She is a wonderful person and is liked by all. She has worked so hard at the cruise and also at our shows. She is very dedicated to helping the needy families.
Jeremy Pickering has found a job at the National Guard so he is doing well. All our thanks go out to this very young man and we wish him the best. We were so happy to help him and hope we made a small difference.
We are still having problems getting members to the meetings. We need more input - only a few are making all the decisions and we would like to hear from more of you. The meetings are held the second Tuesday of each month at the College Avenue Pizza Hut off of Rt.1. I have been sending out notices as everyone cannot remember the date. That has not worked so if anyone has any suggestions please let me know. Maybe we can get a Movie Star or a parts person to come and give us a little talk. I am at a loss as what I can do to get more people involved. It is a shame that only 5 or 8 people to show when we have about 50 members. We also can use some help at the cruise-in on Friday night to set up - we seem to have help to take down but not set up. We voted to not do Foster’s Grill as we are having such a small turn out and only a few members to help. Next meeting will be Tuesday, September 9th.
Thanks again, Sue
