All FC&MCC Members,

We had a very productive meeting in January. We voted on how we will be judging our car show. We will have non-members judging our car show. Member cars will also be judged by people outside of the club. While the non-members will be receiving top 50 trophies and 5 Best of trophies, members will be receiving plaques.

Our annual car show event has been posted on our Web site and also on the Capital Cruisers Web site. We will be making up flyers and passing them out as soon as possible. Our club will be involved with the Marine Corps Half Marathon on Sunday, May 18, 2008 at the Fredericksburg Conference and Expo Center. We will need to arrive by 5am and park our cars before the roads are closed for the race. We can have as many as 50 cars. If you don’t want to get up that early you can bring your car over the night before and they will lock the gates so no one can get in. The Marines will be guarding the facility. We really need a good turn out as we have been invited and it is a real honor for us as a club to help out with this event.

On Saturday, May 3, 2008, from 2pm to 6pm we will be at Fosters grill for a cruise-in. Our club will be providing music and Fosters will give us 20% of all the money they take in during our stay. It is a good way of helping our club and having a good time also. Then we can cruise up to Ron's Cruise-in behind Brusters in North Stafford for more fun. The Virginia BBQ will be giving members free drinks this year and running specials for us and anyone at the cruise-in. We will be handing out special coupons to anyone that comes to cruise-in.

The next NOVA Car Club Council meetings are scheduled for February 2 and March 1, 2008. If you would like to come just go to our Web site and we have a link there with all the information. I keep stressing that we need more members to attend the meetings as we are making lots of decisions about things. We have lots of members and not many at our meetings. Tell us what we need to do to get more members to come to meetings. This is your club and it seems that only a few are making all the decisions. We will be setting up more committees this year as we are doing lots of cruises and shows. We need everyone to help.

We have new officers and hope that you will support them as they are all devoted to making this our best year. We need help at our cruise-ins putting stickers on cars, parking cars and making sure that everyone is having a good time.

If anyone needs any heating or air conditioning work we have a club member that will do a good job and let him know that you are with the club and he will make sure it is done right. He is located in Spotsylvania but will be glad to come to you home and help out. Contact JR Galyen at 540-582-3035.
