All FC&MCC Members,

This is a hard letter for me to write as I am very upset about the turn out for the Marine Corps Marathon. We only had four cars and two jeeps from another club that participated in the event. It was to benefit the troops and also to benefit Fredericksburg. They had over 5,000 runners that came out and ran and only four cars could come out and just sit and watch the runners. There was only Ken's car at the cruise for Cancer on Saturday, May 31, 2008. It was a nice day but no one showed. We went and had both cars washed as we did not have a car to drive for the cruise. We presented the family with a $500 check from the club and Ken washed cars. We voted on coming to this cancer benefit at the meeting and it was upsetting for Ken and me. Next time please speak up if you can’t come as we were expected.

We will be at the Block Party in Massaponax this Saturday, June 7, 2008 from 11am to 2pm as we were invited. Everything is free and bring the kids if you can come, they will have a lot of things to do there. I went last year and it was fun. If you can come let me know as I only signed up for six spaces. We will then go to Foster’s Grill for our 1st Saturday cruise from 4-8pm. I know there are a couple of shows that day so just let me know if you can come to one or both of these outings.

I want to thank Wes and Ken for checking out trophy shops and also for coming with me to get the info on where we would be parking for the Marathon. It was really fun and Evelyn had us all laughing as she got her medal for running in the Marathon. Our club also received 30 T shirts which I will be handing out as door prizes.

The turn out at the cruise-in on Friday night has grown so we need all the members to help. We are running around and trying to get things done. I want to thank Ernest and Merrill for all of their hard work and being there each Friday night. Wes is one of those members that is always positive and helpful and we need to thank him also. Kim is very hard to explain how much we love her she is just going all night setting up the music, putting #’s on cars doing 50/50 and anything else she sees that needs to be done. Wow what a crew! Pop is getting better and is not getting so tired out doing the 50/50 raffle. Thanks Pop! I don't want to forget Ron, he has been the best DJ that our club has ever had since we started this cruise.

We are now giving away our Oink trophy each week and it has been fun to see people imitating pig grunts. The kids also like trying so we will be giving a prize to the best kid oinker also. I forgot my camera last Friday night, but I plan to post more cruise-in pictures on our web site.

We need members to start selling trophies for our car show in August, and please come to our monthly meetings. I have talked to one of the owners of Pizza Hut and he wants us to stay. He plans to talk to the Manager about better service. He will be buying show trophies also. He gave us some coupons for our door prizes and boy does he have some nice cars.

Our next club meeting will be Tuesday, June 10, 2008 (second Tuesday of each month) at 7pm please come and give us our input. Remember we do this for needy families, but we also want members have a good time .Fosters cruise-in will be the first Saturday of each month from 4pm to 8pm .I am hoping we will get a lot of cruisers from the local area, because we do not want to take away from Ron’s cruise-in on Rt. 610. But this is a better time as it will not be as hot and if there is a show we can still have the cruise. Please say a prayer for Paul and Evelyn's grandson as he is still quite ill.
